Dasun is the founder’s home for two organisations he started and funds himself: Daayada, for children finding their way through school, and Green Hearts, for the forests that will outlive every one of us.

Through Green Hearts we put native trees back into tired ground and stay to look after them, so the land can hold its soil, its water and its wildlife again.

Through Daayada we help children stay in school, see the opportunities ahead of them and grow up with the education to reach for them.
Both organisations are founded and funded by one person. These two are my patience.

I. The children
Daayada
A child rarely leaves school for lack of will. They leave for the price of a uniform, a bus fare, a set of books. Daayada removes those small, decisive obstacles with kits, fees and steady mentoring, so a life is not narrowed by a shortfall.
II. The land
Green Hearts
A planted tree is only a promise; a protected one is the kept version. Green Hearts puts native species back into tired ground and stays with them, watering, guarding and replacing, until the canopy can look after itself.
III. The founder
Help things grow, and the world grows with them.
I am Dasun Weerakkodi, the founder of Daayada and Green Hearts. I started both, and I fund both myself, because I believe in one simple idea: the world is not only ours. It belongs to people, to animals and to plants together, and it moves forward only when all three are looked after.
So the work is not charity to me. It is tending. Give a child the means to learn, give a hillside its trees back, give the creatures that live there somewhere to return to, and growth takes care of itself. Nobody has to force it. You only have to help it begin and then stay long enough to see it through.
Humans, animals, plants. Help them grow, and the world grows on its own.
